The Association of Independent Festivals is among the first organisations funded under Arts Council England’s Music Growth Package Sector Bodies Programme — a £65,000 award as part of 11 initial grants totalling £837,750.
The programme sits inside the wider £45 million Music Growth Package (government + Arts Council), launched to back artists, music businesses and industry bodies over three years. Fellow early recipients include Music Venue Trust, the Night Time Industries Association and the Alliance of Independent Promoters. AIF CEO John Rostron framed festivals as “the live music venues of May until September” and called the support welcome backing for organisers still willing to take the risk.
