A fierce late-September Nor’easter along the US East Coast wiped a weekend of outdoor shows — including the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, cancelled for the first time in 14 years.

Organisers said forecasts made it unsafe to bring tens of thousands of people, artists, crew and kit onto the Great Lawn. The same weather system forced All Things Go NYC to call off, while Maryland’s beachfront Oceans Calling abandoned its three-day weekend when tides and wind blocked stage build. Trade coverage also noted stadium dates in New England halted in the same window.

Why Eventplot: when weather forces a rethink, you need the current layout — not last week’s PDF. Eventplot keeps camping, emergency routes, stages and vendors on a live editable 3D planning map you can change under pressure, then push an updated public map to crew and (when appropriate) attendees. Contingency only works if the plan is one shared source of truth.
